SRX2245658: WGS of M. chelonae isolated from a human (Homo sapiens)
1 ILLUMINA (Illumina MiSeq) run: 1.4M spots, 835.7M bases, 491.1Mb downloads

Design: Approximately 15-28 ng/킠 of DNA was submitted from each sample to the Georgia Genomics Facility (The University of Georgia, Athens, GA) for DNA library preparation using Illumina TruSeq adaptors. Paired end (PE) 300-base reads were generated on an Illumina MiSeq PE300 sequencer (Illumina Inc., San Diego, CA).

Thirty previously identified M. chelonae clinical isolates cultured from biofilms, fish, reptiles, mammals, including humans, and three ATCC reference strains were evaluated. Core phylogenomic analysis, targeted gene comparisons, and in-vitro antimicrobial susceptibility patterns were assessed to elucidate a rapid and reliable method for species identification and understand the epidemiologic significance of the isolates
